Scholarships

All admitted students will be considered for a merit-based scholarship based on their application file. There is no separate application required. Students will be notified of their scholarship eligibility at the time of admission. Scholarships are renewable each semester pending acceptable academic performance.

Federal Student Loans

Students pursuing a second bachelor’s degree may be eligible to borrow federal student loans. Because the ABSN is a second bachelor’s degree, the amount incoming students will be eligible to borrow will be informed by how much they have previously borrowed previously and their repayment standing for existing student loans. The annual borrowing limits are determined by the federal government.

Forgivable Education Loans for Service

Created by the 2011 NC General Assembly, this program is a forgivable loan providing funding for students pursing degrees in certain critical fields. Students must be NC residents. Recipients must sign a promissory note agreeing to repay the loan by working in North Carolina in their approved field of study. Applications and all additional information are available online at CFNC.org/FELS.

Private Alternative Loans

While we do not recommend any loan providers, we do offer an opportunity for students to compare popular loan options by important details like rate types, APR min/max and grace periods through a tool called FastChoice. Learn more about private alternative loan options here.
