Brief Biography

I have been in higher education, either as a faculty member or administrator, for over 30 years.  My early career was in direct practice and administration in juvenile justice and child welfare.  I am an avid reader, love to travel, and attempt to play golf.  I am looking forward to mentoring the Periclean Scholars Class of 2021, with a focus on Native Americans.

Research

I have mentored numerous undergraduate research projects.  I enjoy supporting students who pursue their own ideas.  My own reserach has focused on mental health providers in the military, service learning, and community development.  I am working on two current projects:  connecting the liberal arts with the helping professions and the roles and skills of child protective services workers.
