Brief Biography

Moreau received a Master of Science in Physics from East Carolina University where she studied both physics and creative writing. Her master's thesis titled, "K-shell Ionization of Fluorocarbons by 2 MeV H+ " was completed in East Carolina's accelerator laboratory.

In addition to her scientific endeavors, Moreau is an accomplished poet and fiction writer. Her debut chapbook, Dark Machines, was published by Fugitive Poet Press in 2011 and is available on Amazon. In 2024, she released her first full-length poetry collection, Demise of Pangaea, with Main Street Rag Publications.

Moreau’s literary work has garnered national recognition. She has been featured on Asheville’s 103.3 FM "Wordplay" radio show [Sept. 22], where she read STEM-themed poetry alongside fellow woman in STEM, Britt Kaufmann, author of Midlife Calculus. In 2011, Moreau won The Pinch Literary Award for Poetry for her evocative poem Father-in-Law in His Tighty Whities, and in 2022, her poem Ghost on the Beach was a finalist for the Princemere Poetry Prize. In 2024, she earned an Honorable Mention in the Susan Laughter Meyers Poetry Fellowship and was invited to read at the North Carolina Poetry Society meeting at the North Carolina Arboretum.

Her poetry and fiction have appeared in a wide range of publications, including Pank, Tar River Poetry, Kakalak, The Bitter Oleander, The Pinch, The GW Review, and Chaotic Merge with new work forthcoming in Cider Press Review and Grist. Moreau continues to make a significant impact in both the literary and scientific communities, blending her scientific expertise with her creative expression.
