If someone will be paying tuition on your behalf, you must add them as an authorized user.

If you’d like someone else—such as a parent or guardian—to make payments on your behalf, you can add them as an authorized user in e-Bill. Once added, they’ll receive an email with instructions to access their account. You can find step-by-step guidance on how to add an authorized user below.

Establishing someone as an Authorized User will allow them to:

  • Access your student account billing.
  • Receive email notifications about charges and account changes.
  • Access financial aid details.
  • Pay your bill on your behalf.
  • Enroll in a payment plan.
  • Talk with someone from Student Financial Services regarding your account.

Students, follow these steps to set up or manage an Authorized User

  1. Log in to e-Bill.
  2. Navigate to the “Quick Links” to “Set up Authorized Users” or “Manage Authorized Users.”
  3. The authorized user will receive an email explaining how to log in to the system to verify their authorized user account. Make sure the email address you enter is correct, or your authorized user won’t receive important email messages from our office.
  4. Students can cancel access to an Authorized User at any time.

Family members, you may also follow these steps to request to be an Authorized User

  1. Visit elon.edu/sfs.
  2. Click on “Access E-Bill for Established Authorized Users”
  3. Click “Create new account.”
  4. Click “Authorized User”
  5. Create your authorized user account
  6. Once you fill out the information, you will move to the next window, “Account Created.” Click the “Verify Email” button below to verify your account and get started.
  7. Log in to e-Bill with your email address/password.
  8. Next, the Authorized User is required to verify the student’s Elon University ID Number (7-digit number) and date of birth. An email will be sent to the student letting them know that an Authorized User has requested access to their account. Once approved, the Authorized User receives an email notification that the student has approved, and the Authorized User is ready to log in.

Resetting a Password for an Authorized User

Only the authorized user can reset their password. Neither the student nor Student Financial Services can do this for them. If the user is unable to reset the password, it might be necessary for the student to remove the existing authorized user account and establish a new one.
