Bill Burpitt, associate professor and chair of the MBA program at Elon University, gave an invited talk at the 15th Annual Part-time MBA Conference held in October at Pepperdine University.
Burpitt was invited to speak on Elon’sefforts to help part-time MBA students in the development of theircareers and the creation of a strong sense of community amongthe students. One specific area he was asked to address was thesequence of 1-hour courses at the beginning, middle and end of theprogram that focus on career and educational goals and studentattainment of those goals as they move through the program.
Conferenceattendees also asked to hear about the various events and structuresthat are employed in the MBA program to create and sustain the sense ofcommunity among the students.
