The Elon University “E” monogram is the most recognizable representation of the athletics brand and should serve as the preferred identity mark across all communications and applications.

Consistent usage of the primary monogram strengthens visibility, reinforces brand equity and creates a unified visual system across athletics. The logo should always appear with clarity, confidence and proper spacing to maintain its integrity and impact.

Only approved artwork may be used. Do not recreate, alter or distort the monogram in any way.The logo may be reduced in size. However, to maintain the integrity of the monogram — please use good judgment to ensure legibility.

The Elon Athletics wordmarks are graphics that feature the “Athletics” or “Phoenix” name. They are versatile enough to be used on any color background. These wordmarks may not be altered or changed in any way. This includes altering color or proportion as well as adding or changing words or symbols.

Primary Wordmark

The Elon wordmark in the Tautz typeface may be used only for Elon Athletics branding and may not be used in any other Elon communications.

Supporting Marks

The Elon Athletics supporting marks provide a clean and versatile representation of the athletics identity. These marks are designed for applications where typography-led branding is preferred or where the primary logo may not be the ideal solution.

These supporting marks should be used consistently across communications, apparel, facilities and digital platforms to reinforce brand recognition and establish a cohesive visual language.

Only approved wordmark configurations may be used.The supporting marks may be reduced in size. However, to maintain the integrity of the logo please use good judgment to ensure legibility.

Elon Athletics / Elon Phoenix Wordmarks

When the words “Athletics” or “Phoenix” are used with the Tautz Elon typeface to create the wordmark, as shown below the words can be outlined or not, depending on usage and size. DO NOT simply remove the outline, but use the non-outlined version, as the spacing has been modified.

Monogram + Wordmarks

The monogram can be used with the Tautz typeface wordmark, as shown below, for Athletics purposes. When the words “Athletics” or “Phoenix” are used in conjunction with the Elon Tautz wordmark under the monogram, they should not be outlined.

Mascot – Full Body

The full body mascot mark captures the energy, confidence and competitive spirit of Elon Athletics. This mark is best utilized in spirited applications that emphasize school pride, fan engagement and game day culture.The Phoenix mascot is to only be used in association with athletics, rather than any mythological depiction of the mascot.

The mascot should always appear strong, clear and recognizable across all mediums. Use approved artwork only and avoid excessive styling or modifications that compromise the integrity of the mark. DO NOT modify the mascot in any manner.

This mark is intended to complement the primary identity system and should be used strategically within the broader Elon Athletics brand hierarchy.

Mascot – Head

The mascot head serves as a bold and recognizable secondary mark within the Elon Athletics identity system. Designed for versatility and immediate recognition, the mark performs effectively across apparel, social graphics, merchandise and environmental applications.

The mascot head should always maintain proper orientation, proportion and visibility. Consistent usage strengthens school spirit and reinforces the personality and energy of Elon Athletics.

Only approved color variations and artwork may be used.

Maroon and gold were adopted as the Elon colors circa 1910, and various shades of these colors have been used throughout the school’s history. Today, the primary maroon color is Pantone 188 and the gold is Pantone 872 (metallic ink) or Pantone 7503 (non-metallic).

Accurate reproduction of the Elon colors depends on the medium and/or software programs being used. It is essential to choose the right file type and color systems for print publications, digital screen displays or other applications.
