Elon University Poll results generate national media coverage

The results of the second Elon University Poll of the fall season were released on Tuesday, Oct. 4. 

During this historic election season, the Elon University Poll is generating broad local and national media coverage as it offers insights into what's on the minds of North Carolina voters. 

The most recent survey by the Elon University Poll was conducted Sept. 27-30 and looked at voter preferences in the presidential, gubernatorial and U.S. Senate contests as well as exploring opinions about issue stemming from the recent shooting death of a black man by a Charlotte police officer. Dozens of local, regional and national media outlets reported on the results of the Elon Poll. Among the national media outlets that cited the poll were the Washington Post, USA Today, the International Business Times, FiveThirtyEight, the Huffington Post, the Wall Street Journal, The Hill, Talking Points Memo, Politico and Bloomberg Politics.

An Associated Press article about divisions in North Carolina politics that cited the Elon Poll results was carried by more than 100 newspapers nationwide, including the New York Times and San Francisco Chronicle.

Elon Poll results were part of coverage by national broadcast outlets and programs including CNN, Morning Joe (MSNBC), Bloomberg TV and FOX News.
