"El cuerpo sin marca en el Tuzaní de la Alpujarra (The unmarked body in El Tuzaní de la Alpujarra)" dealt with questions of racial and religious identity in 16th century Spain as presented in a particular play by Calderon de la Barca.

Issues dealing with moriscos (Muslims converted to Christianity) became particularly relevant in the context of the rebellion that took place in Granada, Spain, in 1568-70, a conflict that is used as the historical background for the play.
