The 2016 edition of "The Best 380 Colleges" recognizes Elon in seven academic and student life categories.

Princeton Review's 2016 edition ranks Elon the nation's #1 university for study abroad.

Elon is named the nation's top university for study abroad and earns recognition in several other categories in the 2016 edition of the Princeton Review college guide.

"The Best 380 Colleges" provides the following Elon rankings on its annual lists, which are based on a national survey of about 136,000 college students:

  • #1 Most popular study abroad program
  • #6 Best-run colleges
  • #7 Most beautiful campus
  • #14 Best career services
  • #14 Best college dorms
  • #15 Best college theater
  • #18 Lots of Greek life

Elon students told The Princeton Review that Elon has an "emphasis on global awareness" and "encourages awareness and action on global issues" while producing global leaders that will "make the world a better place."

Elon students also remarked on the university's small classes that "facilitate relationships with professors." In remarking on strong faculty mentorship, one student said, "the relationships between students and professors is so strong and personal, and has really shaped my college experience.” Professors are described as “enthusiastic,” “engaging,” “kind” and “very experienced.”

Another student said that, "Elon pays attention to the WHOLE student—not just grades, athletics, or involvement” and academics here are “all about connections, whether between individuals, groups or simply concepts.”

Elon survey results found that classroom and library facilities are great and there are plentiful opportunities for internships and career services.

"The Best 380 Colleges" is one of the top-selling college guides, profiling only about 15 percent of the nation's four-year colleges that are the best for undergraduate education. The guide includes ranking lists of top-20 schools in 62 categories.

The lists are entirely based on The Princeton Review's student survey, which asks students to rate their own schools on several topics and report on their campus experiences.

This is the 13th year in a row that Elon has appeared in the Princeton Review's "Best Colleges" guide. The Princeton Review is an education services company known for its test-prep courses, tutoring, books, and other student resources. Headquartered in Natick, Massachusetts, the company is not affiliated with Princeton University.
