Srikant Vallabhajosula has article published in Gait Posture on Parkinson’s disease
Srikant Vallabhajosula, an assistant professor in the Department of Physical Therapy Education, has published an article in the peer-reviewed journal Gait Posture.
The article is titled "Age and Parkinson's disease related kinematic alterations during multi-directional gait initiation." In the article, Vallabhajosula and his co-authors investigated quantitatively how aging and Parkinson’s disease affect the ability to initiate walking in multiple directions. This investigation was done using similar instrumentation that is housed in the new Biomechanics Laboratory at the Francis Center of Elon University.
The main findings of the study are that Parkinson’s disease more adversely affects the ability to initiate walk in multiple directions compared to aging.
