Elon University, Department of Political Science and Public Administration
Elon Institute of Politics and Public Affairs
Dr. George Taylor, Institute Director

The institute is organized as a public service unit of the Department of Political Science at Elon University. Through its three centers, the institute endeavors to eliminate the disconnect between the academic realm and the "real world" of the citizens, policy makers, administrators, activists and civic leaders. The institute seeks to facilitate informed decision-making on issues affecting the public interest and to strengthen civic leadership. Students are involved in all phases of the institute's work. This brings the challenge of real-world problem solving to students while they are engaged in the academic process.
