Elon University, in cooperative agreement with North Carolina A&T State University, offers an Army ROTC program and an Air Force ROTC program.
The Air Force ROTC program is offered entirely on the North Carolina A&T State University campus. Students must register for the required aerospace science courses through the Greater Greensboro Consortium program in the Elon University Registrar’s Office.
The Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps program provides a viable elective program for both male and female students. Many of the courses in the Army ROTC program are offered on the Elon University campus. The program is divided into a basic course and an advanced course. These courses are normally completed during a four-year period. However, it is possible for veterans and other students who elect to undergo special training to complete the program in two years.
The 39-year Navy veteran recently commanded the North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command.
