Student Concerns Outreach

At Elon, we know that student wellness and student success are intrinsically linked.  We understand that health is comprehensive and encompasses mental, physical, and social wellbeing.  Elon provides holistic student health and wellness resources, education, and outreach, as well as crisis response.  Students are emerging adults, and we seek to provide support and opportunities to help them develop autonomy, responsibility, and resiliency.  Student Concerns Outreach is part of the comprehensive wellness services offered through the Office of the Dean of Students.

Staff are available to provide information and guidance such as:

  • Assistance developing support plans and short-term follow-up (3-6 meetings)
  • Information regarding on/off campus support resources such as Counseling Services, Health Services, etc.
  • Information about tutoring services and academic supports
  • Coordination with residence life, parking services, and other offices for temporary resources
  • Linking with disability services for long-term accommodations
  • University medical withdrawal and readmission
  • Individual course withdrawals (for absences occurring prior to the university course withdrawal date)
  • Incomplete grade requests (for absences occurring during the final 3 weeks of the term)
  • Health Related Absences (personal health emergencies, family health related emergencies, and/or the death of an immediate familiy member- including grandparents)

Student Concerns Reports

An online report can be submitted if you are concerned for a student's health, well-being, or behavior. This reporting form is for non-emergency reporting only. Student Concerns reports will be reviewed within 1-2 business days of submission. Based on the type of report, you may be contacted for additional information. Though anonymous reports are permitted, doing so may limit the University’s ability to investigate and/or respond.  Information reported may be used to help link a student with resources and/or respond if a student's behavior is creating a situation that is potentially unsafe for themselves or others.
