Elon kicks off United Way campaign drive

Pledges of any amount during the campaign, which runs until December, will enter donors in every-other-week drawings for Elon-only incentives such as gift cards, sideline passes to a football game and Phoenix Cash.

Elon University kicked off its 2014-2015 United Way campaign at College Coffee on Sept. 9 with outreach efforts to let employees know of three ways to give.

Anyone who pledges a contribution on Sept. 9, 2014, is entered into a drawing for an iPad on Dec. 11, 2014. A pledge of $52 or more enters donors in the United Way car drawing for a new vehicle. Multiples of $52 lead to multiple entries (up to four).

There are three ways to pledge:

  1. Using OnTrack – after you login, the United Way link is at the bottom of the left column. Payroll deductions for pledges made during this year’s campaign will start January 31, 2015.
  2. Using the Elon United Way Website Barometer to make a credit card donation.
  3. Requesting a paper pledge form from Johanna Janssen; completing it and returning it to Dorothy Rinehart in Accounting at 2900 Campus Box.

While the United Way prefers donations stay local, donors can designate pledges to any registered 501(c)3 organization by providing the name (and address if you have it) of the organization. Undesignated pledges will go to the Community Fund.

The Elon United Campaign team is led by Scott Hildebrand (Teaching & Learning Technologies), Steven Mencarini (Center for Leadership) and Johanna Janssen (Department of Physical Therapy Education).
