Adam Constantine ’10 named Elon University social media manager

Constantine joins the staff of his alma mater after managing social media for downtown Raleigh businesses with the digital marketing firm Live Work Play.

A familiar face returns to campus this spring in a new role off the court.

Adam Constantine ’10 has joined the Elon staff as the university’s new social media manager in the Office of University Communications.

In his position, Constantine will coordinate and share stories, photos and videos across Elon’s primary social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and others.

He also will serve as a resource for academic departments and administrative offices that use social media as a way to connect with external audiences.

Constantine oversees the creation of new Elon social media accounts and will lead best-practice workshops for employees who manage social media on behalf of departments and programs.

He comes to Elon from Live Work Play, a downtown Raleigh digital marketing firm, where he worked as social media director. In that role, Constantine raised the profile of downtown businesses by helping them build their brands and engage their audiences via social media channels.

Prior to working at Live Work Play, he played professional basketball for five seasons in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

“I am very excited to return to the campus I grew to call home during my undergraduate studies,” Constantine said, “and I look forward to being a small part of helping others connect with Elon University in fun and engaging ways.”

Constantine earned his bachelor’s degree in communications from Elon in 2010 as well as being a four-year letter winner as a student-athlete on the men’s basketball team. He succeeds Philip Jones, who accepted a social media position in January at his alma mater, the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
