Omri Shimron, an associate professor in the Department of Music, collaborated with violist Kirsten Swanson, whom he met while a student at the Eastman School of Music.

Their program included works by J.S. Bach (Sonata in G minor for viola da gamba and harpsichord), C.P.E. Bach (solo Sonata in F-sharp minor, Wq. 52/4), Brahms (2 Ballades, Op. 10), Prokofiev (selections from the ballet Romeo and Juliet), and Arvo Pärt (“Spiegel im Spiegel”). The duo performed at Elon on Wednesday, Oct 23. Later that week they were invited to perform at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (Oct. 24), Catawba College (Oct. 26), and the University of N. Carolina Greensboro (Oct. 27). In September, they also performed at The Music House, a private venue in Greenville, NC.
