Gender and LGBTQIA Center welcomes Camilla Brewer

In its fourth year, the Gender and LGBTQIA Center welcomes its first full-year graduate assistant, Camilla Brewer.

The Gender and LGBTQIA Center is excited to announce and introduce its new graduate assistant, Camilla Brewer.

Camilla Brewer hails from the great Oak Park, Illinois, which is famous for things such as homes built by Frank Lloyd Wright, Ernest Hemingway, the voice of Homer Simpson, Iman Shumpert, and the church from Home Alone. She is a second-year student in the Student Personnel Administration in Higher Education (SPAHE) master’s program and is a graduate of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she majored in psychology and women’s and gender studies with a minor in sexuality studies.

To grow in the field of student affairs, Brewer is interested in learning more about the identity development of underrepresented student populations and how to make their transition into higher education more effective and supportive. She is a fan of miniature objects, reading and gushing over all types of animal videos. Additionally, her favorite place is the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, her favorite film director is Wes Anderson and her current favorite band is CHVRCHES.

Brewer is excited to be working with Elon students as well as Matthew Antonio Bosch, director of the Gender and LGBTQIA Center. Elon University is thrilled to have Brewer serve as the newest member of both Team GLC and the Division of Student Life.
