Haya Ajjan guest lectures at ESAN University in Peru

Haya Ajjan, assistant professor of management information systems in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, was recently a guest professor during International Week at ESAN University in Lima, Peru.

Held July 8-12, ESAN’s International Week provided participants with an opportunity to experience a global environment while learning about the latest in business administration. Professors visited from universities such as the University of Michigan, ESADE, University of Navarra, Duke University and Shanghai University. Students came from various countries including Mexico, France and Colombia.

Ajjan, one of 46 guest professors, taught two courses. One focused on the use of social media and mobile technologies in different business contexts and its impact on the business competitive environment. The second course covered the current information security landscape and how organizations can build a risk management plan to protect their most valuable information assets. The students in Ajjan’s classes were visiting from Peru, Mexico and France.

Eight Elon MBA students attended International Week and participated in a variety of courses including Doing Business in Brazil, IT Strategy, Business Modeling, Building a Culture of Employee Engagement, and Strategic Talent Management. The courses were taught by professors visiting from the University of Michigan, Arizona State University and Maastricht University in the Netherlands.

Founded in 1963, ESAN was the first academic institution specialized in business administration for graduate students to be created in the Spanish-speaking world.
