Grad merges business analytics with social responsibility
When Savannah Josey interned at Fidelity Investments, she was inspired by CEO Abby Johnson’s inclusive and innovative leadership. That experience affirmed her desire to use business as a force for good.
At Elon, Josey, a 2023 graduate with majors in business analytics and Spanish, combined her academic interest in data with her passion for sustainability. Through internships, projects that mirrored real-world work, and opportunities to connect with executives-in-residence, she built the skills to translate millions of data points into clear, compelling recommendations. “People listen to numbers,” she said. “Learning how to understand large volumes of data and communicate with them was very exciting.”
Josey also worked with Elon’s Kernodle Center for Civic Life, served as a Business Fellow, and earned the North Carolina Campus Compact Community Impact Student Award. Today she is a people advisory services consultant at EY.
She encourages students to stay open to opportunities: “Having a business degree can translate into a variety of careers, so the more open-minded you are going into new experiences, the better.”
