James Drummond at Elon

Remembering Jim Drummond

James P. Drummond, a longtime faculty member, passed away on Oct. 17 following an extended illness. Joining Elon in 1987, he played a pivotal role in establishing the university’s Department of Leisure and Sport Management, now known as Sport Management, and served as its founding chair until his retirement in 2012. In recognition of Drummond’s extensive community involvement, the department presents the annual James P. Drummond Service Award. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Witt Drummond.

CAPTION: Jim Drummond (right) was on hand to celebrate Carol Pyszkowski ’16 at the department’s 2016 senior banquet.
