The Elon M.Ed.

Elon’s newly structured 33-hour M.Ed. program with an emphasis in Innovation in Education is part-time and designed for teachers who are graduates of accredited institutions and initially licensed to teach. The program has both face-to-face and online/hybrid courses.

Our program has been designed to disrupt practitioners’ traditional concepts of schooling and move teachers toward more progressive visions and praxis.  Candidates are: (1.) introduced to a range of progressive student-centered pedagogies such as project-based learning and place-based education, (2.) asked to reimagine education within a constructivist framework, allowing for equitable learning opportunities that are respectful and responsive of students’ backgrounds, and (3.) offered opportunities to experiment in their own practice with innovative pedagogies.

Update: Thank you for your interest in the revised Elon M.Ed. program. Due to the unprecedented circumstances surrounding COVID-19, we have decided to delay the start of the M.Ed. program to Summer 2021. The application for Summer 2021 will become available in August. Submit this form If you have any questions or if you would like to be added to future communications about the Elon M.Ed. program. We appreciate your consideration.
