Learning about key academic themes included the socio-historic development of soccer, the influence of supporters and stadium culture, and the broader social impact of sport. Visiting the Museu do Futebol, the Institute of Sport and Education and the Brazilian Paralympic Committee. One of the most memorable experiences was attending Flamengo vs. Vasco at Maracanã Stadium, which provided an unforgettable perspective on the passion and cultural significance of soccer in Brazil. Overall, this program strengthened my global perspective and deepened my understanding of how sports can influence culture, identity, education, and business.

My internship in Germany at ImpactHub Berlin. It was so fun working in such a dynamic workplace with so many other international people from all around the globe! The UEFA European Championship was also going on while I was there so it was awesome being able to watch games with locals at the nearby Turkish restaurant.

My favorite experience was attending a Matildas match on International Women’s Day in Sydney through my Sports and Learning class. It was an incredible opportunity to experience Australian sports culture while spending time with friends I met during my semester abroad.

Being fully immersed in that environment was not only fun, but also reinforced much of what I learned during the practicum in a powerful way!”

We listened to panel discussions about the inter-workings of NGOs, traced back the steps of people on the move, and were able to visit various solidarity spaces created to support these individuals.”
Favorite Elon Global Experience: “I lived with a host mom for six weeks where she made me authentic German meals and we watched the UEFA Euro Football cup together! She also had other exchange students living with us from Slovakia, Japan, and France whom I still talk to!”

Favorite Elon Global Experience: “Staying with my host family for a weekend was the highlight of my experience abroad. I also enjoyed going to different Christmas markets around Italy. Drinking hot chocolate, shopping for family and ice skating with friends brought me so much joy.”
