As a registered donor or as someone who is considering anatomical donation with the Anatomical Gift Program at Elon University, please allow me to express our appreciation for this fine act on your part. You have made an important contribution toward the education of healthcare professionals and better health for people in the future.

With the impact that the coronavirus has had globally, I’d like to bring your attention to the Anatomical Gift Program at Elon.

The Anatomical Gift Program screening protocols for accepting an anatomical donor at the time of death now include COVID-19, which has been added to the list of highly contagious infectious diseases, thereby safeguarding measures for all. If COVID-19 has been diagnosed, we will decline the anatomical donation.

As for making alternate end-of-life arrangements, consistent with our original program processes, all anatomical registrants are encouraged to make this determination with their families. The Anatomical Gift Program relinquishes involvement with alternate plans.

We appreciate your patience and your support as we all do our very best to carry on in a most fiduciary manner. If you have questions, concerns, or comments, please contact our office by dialing 336-278-6564, or you may send an email to

May this correspondence find you healthy, in good spirits, and in safe spaces.
