Transportation Options for the Elon University Charlotte Campus

Elon University Charlotte is located at 330 W. Tremont Ave. in Charlotte’s South End, a walkable neighborhood with convenient access to light rail, parking, rideshare services, and biking routes. Elon selected South End in part because of its walkable setting and access to public transportation, helping students connect easily to campus, Uptown, and the wider Charlotte region

Light Rail and Public Transit

The campus is a short walk from the LYNX Blue Line, one of Charlotte’s main transit corridors. The nearby East/West Blvd Station includes seating, ticket machines, accessibility features, and bike racks. The Blue Line provides easy connections through South End, Uptown, and other parts of Charlotte.

Parking and Driving

Students and visitors can reach campus easily by car. The building entrance faces Ava Apartments, with parking available outside the building except for spaces reserved for Ava Apartments. Additional parking is available at the Design Center Parking Garage at 240 Doggett St., one block away.

Rideshare and Local Travel

Uber and Lyft are widely used in Charlotte and can be a convenient option for commuting to and from campus, especially for evening classes or quick trips around the city. South End’s central location also makes it easy to connect to nearby restaurants, apartments, internships, and entertainment destinations.

Walking and Biking

South End is built for getting around on foot or by bike. The Charlotte Rail Trail runs through the neighborhood along the light rail line and offers a 3.5-mile linear public park connecting restaurants, shops, public art, and gathering spaces. This makes it easy for students to move through the neighborhood while enjoying one of Charlotte’s most active urban corridors.

Airport Access

Charlotte Douglas International Airport offers multiple ground transportation options, including rideshare pickup, taxis, rental cars, and CATS service. For students traveling in and out of Charlotte, the airport is a convenient gateway to campus and the city.

Amtrak Station

The Charlotte Amtrak train station is within five miles from campus and is accessible via CATS service or a rideshare like Uber or Lyft.
