Tuition and Fees
2025-2026 Tuition and Fees
The tuition and fees below are based upon full-time student status (12-18 hours per semester). Other rates/fees apply for those students taking more than 18 hours (see Overload Tuition Rate below) or less than 12 hours (see Part-Time Students below). All students, regardless of status, may be charged additional course-related fees (noted in the course catalog).

Overload Tuition Rate
Those students taking more than 18 credit hours will be charged the flat rate above, in addition to an hourly rate per additional credit hour of $1,535.00
Part-Time Students
Part-time students, or those taking less than 12 credit hours, are charged an hourly rate per credit hour of $1,535.00 and reduced fees ($73.00 Student Activity Fee and $107.50 Health and Wellness Fee).
Winter Term Tuition
Students who were full time in the Fall (registered for 12-18 credit hours) may take up to four (4) hours during winter term with no additional tuition charged. Students who take a winter term course but were not full-time during the fall semester will be charged an hourly rate per credit hour of $1,535.00. For students who are charged for winter tuition (i.e. student was not full time in the Fall), a credit for up to four (4) hours of winter tuition will be issued if the student is enrolled full time in the following Spring semester. Students participating in study away courses during winter term incur separate costs to support the program. The separate trip costs are charged based on the program selected. Costs associated with winter study away programs are not tuition costs and are not eligible for any credits regardless of a students full time status in Fall or Spring.
Additional Fees and Conditions
- Some courses include additional fees which are noted in the course catalog. Examples include ART 170, MUS 322, and PED 105.
- Some performing arts and music majors may receive a partial credit for music fees and credit for overload hours. Read the full list of credit conditions.
- There will be additional fees for private music instruction, several art and physical education-related courses, and for a course load greater than 18 hours per semester. Greek organization and pledge fees will be included on bills when applicable. Please email bursar@elon.edu or call the Bursar’s Office 877-729-3566 with questions.
Housing/Rooms
Elon University has a two-year residency requirement and many students choose to live on campus in their third and fourth years as well. The cost of residency varies depending on the type of housing chosen. More information about the residency requirement and various housing offerings can be found on the Residence Life website.

Food (Meal Plans)
All first-year and sophomore students living in university housing are required to have a meal plan, with minimum requirements varying by their academic standing and residence. For juniors and seniors, meal plan requirements depend on their specific housing assignment. Winter meal plans are included in the fall semester cost. Block meal plans carry forward from fall into winter.

Meal Plan Requirements
First Years
Required to have at least the All-Access Basic plan in all residence halls.
Sophomores
Required to have at least the All-Access plan in all residence halls and Loy Center. Students in university apartments, EcoVillage, and Trollinger house must select at least the 300 Block plan.
Juniors
Students in Historic and Danieley Center are required to have at least the All-Access Basic plan. Students in Danieley Center K, Loy Center, Colonnades, East, Global and Academic Village must select at least the 300-block plan. Students in apartments, Trollinger and EcoVillage are encouraged to select a meal plan.
Seniors
Students in Historic and Danieley Center are required to have at least the All-Access Basic plan. Students in Danieley Center K, Loy Center, Colonnades, East, Global and Academic Village must select at least the 300-block plan. Students in apartments, Trollinger and EcoVillage are encouraged to select a meal plan.
Summer Tuition & Housing/Room Rates
Summer courses at Elon are offered in two different sessions for undergraduate students. Students may choose to take summer courses on campus or away from campus (through online learning). Whether on campus or online, tuition is charged by credit hour.

For those who choose to take summer courses on-campus, the room rates are charged by session:
- Double room: $831.00/per session
- Single room: $1049.00/per session
Unfortunately, meal plans are not available during the summer months.
**The amount for tuition and fees for the 2025-2026 academic year has been set regardless of the method of instruction and will not be refunded in the event instruction occurs remotely for any part of the 2025-2026 academic year**
