Mindfulness Retreat Sign-Up

Saturday Dec 2, 12-4pm, in the Sacred Space of the Numen Lumen Pavilion. Retreat open to students, faculty, and staff.

The Koru Mindfulness Retreat is mostly silent and teaches skills that help reduce stress, improve sleep, and increase happiness and compassion. The retreat includes an introduction to Mindfulness, multiple meditation techniques (including walking and eating meditation), simple yoga, breathing exercises, and an opportunity for sharing and reflection.

  • This is a 4-hour retreat, mostly silent, with instruction about Mindfulness, directed walking and sitting meditations, simple yoga, and sharing/reflection towards the end. Please let us know if you have a physical condition that makes any part of the retreat difficult. The yoga portion will be accessible to all skill levels, including beginners, but it is your responsibility to be aware of your limits and to not attempt anything painful.
  • If you have a yoga mat, please bring it. If not, we will have extras available.
  • A healthy snack will be provided as part of the retreat.

Koru MindfulnessMindful Elon is a collaboration of students, faculty, and staff. Health Promotion, Counseling Services, Wellness, and the Truitt Center for Religious and Spiritual Life are partnering together to offer Koru Mindfulness Workshops and Retreats. The Contemplative Pedagogy and Faculty Learning Community works with faculty to promote Mindful teaching.
