More than 800 students to receive degrees from Elon College

ELON COLLEGE – More than 800 students are expected to receive degrees from Elon College during commencement exercises Saturday, May 22.
The ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m. under the oaks in front of West Residence Hall.

Adam Werbach, the former president of the Sierra Club, is the featured speaker during commencement. When he was elected in 1996, the 23-year-old became the organization’s youngest leader in its history. He currently is developing television projects on nature.

The baccalaureate ceremony will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, May 21 in Alumni Memorial Gymnasium in Koury Center. The Rev. Ann Calvin Rogers-Witte, a conference minister with United Church of Christ in New Mexico who also had been a pastor in North Carolina, will deliver the baccalaureate address. Her daughter, Mary Ann, is a student at Elon.
