African-American Read-in to be held Feb. 14 at Elon College

ELON COLLEGE – Elon College will host its 16th annual African-American
Read-in on Monday, Feb. 14. The read-in will be held 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the
fireplace lounge in Moseley Center on the college’s campus.

Members of the community are invited to join students, faculty and staff
members in this event sponsored by the college’s Black Cultural Society.

Participants are asked to read aloud writings by African Americans.
The African-American Read-in is part of a national event sponsored by the
National Council of Teachers of English and the council’s Black Caucus. The
read-in makes literacy a significant part of Black History Month.
