Local candidates for political office will have a chance to share their views with voters during two forums at the Paramount Theater, located at 128 E. Front St. in Burlington. Candidates’ Forum 2000 will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24 and Thursday, Oct. 26. Free and open to the public, both sessions are expected to last between 90 minutes and two hours.
On Oct. 24, candidates for Alamance County Commissioner, the N.C. House 25th District seat and the N.C. Senate 21st District seat will meet with voters. The Oct. 26 forum will include candidates for Alamance County District Court Judge and the Alamance-Burlington Board of Education.
The Elon College Institute of Politics and Public Affairs is a sponsor of the event, along with the Alamance Women’s Political Caucus, the Burlington Jaycees, NAACP-Alamance County chapter, the American Association of University Women and the Burlington Times-News.
