The Boston Camerata presents “Liberty Tree” at Elon, Feb. 22

The Boston Camerata will present “Liberty Tree,” an anthology of early American secular music, at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 22 in McCrary Theatre, located on the Elon campus in the Faith Rockefeller Model Center for the Arts.

The internationally acclaimed Boston Camerata, under the direction of Joel Cohen, has been delighting audiences around the world for almost four decades. The program includes songs, anthems, jogs and ballads from the early years of the republic. The Camerata will perform several numbers with the Elon College Camerata, formerly known as the Chamber Singers.

The performance is part of the Anne Ellington Powell Master Artist Series, which was established by Dr. James B. Powell in honor of his wife, Anne Ellington Powell. The series has brought internationally acclaimed artists in dance, drama and music to Elon. This performance is also funded, in part, by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with the Southern Arts Federation and the North Carolina Arts Council.

Tickets are $15 or free with Elon identification. Tickets may be purchased by calling the McCrary Theatre box office at (336) 278-5610. The box office is open between 12:30 p.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
