Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet,” Sept. 12

Shenandoah Shakespeare Express will present “Romeo and Juliet,” one of the world’s most famous love stories, at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 12 in McCrary Theatre, located on the Elon campus in the Faith Rockefeller Model Center for the Arts.

“Romeo and Juliet” is a tribute to the power and danger of romantic love, and a celebration of its triumphs and trivialities. Shakespeare puts the joys of physical movement and the pleasures of language into theatrical balance, as dance, athleticism, and combat share the stage with puns, sonnets and soul-searching speeches.

Tickets for the production are $10 or free with Elon identification. Tickets may be purchased by calling the McCrary Theatre box office at (336) 278-5610. The box office is open between 12:30 p.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
