Creative writing professor featured at Oct. 1 reading

Alan Shapiro, professor of English and creative writing at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, will read selected passages from his books of poetry and memoirs during a reading at 7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 1 in Yeager Recital Hall, located in the Faith Rockefeller Model Center for the Arts on the Elon campus. The reading is free and open to the public.

Shapiro has authored six books of poetry and two memoirs. He won the Los Angeles Times award for poetry and was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award.

Shapiro’s reading is sponsored by the English department and the Frederick Hartmann Fund.
