Elon Chamber Orchestra concert, Oct. 18

The Elon Chamber Orchestra will open its concert season at 7:30 p.m.,
Thursday, Oct. 18 in Whitley Auditorium.

The concert, which is free and open to the public, will feature Mary
Alice Bragg on the organ and Tom Erdmann on the trumpet, as well as
students from a variety of academic disciplines.

Featuring works by Schubert, Grieg and Sondheim, the concert will also
mark the debut performance of assistant conductor David B. Smith, a
senior music education major.

The program will also feature Valhalla, a new work for the string
orchestra written by Scott Walker, former associate conductor and long
time member of the orchestra.
