“How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” opens Nov. 7

The Department of Performing Arts will present “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” beginning at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 7 in McCrary Theatre, located in the Faith Rockefeller Model Center for the Arts on the Elon campus. Performances are also scheduled for 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 8-Saturday, Nov. 10, and at 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 11.

This satire follows the rise of J. Pierrepont Finch, who uses a small handbook called “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” to climb the corporate ladder. Finch’s rise from window washer to high-powered executive produces a hero the audience will pull for from beginning to end.

“How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” is based on the novel by Shepherd Mead, and the book by Abe Burrows, Jack Weinstock and Willie Gilbert.

The Elon production is directed by Catherine McNeela, with choreography by Linda Sabo.

Tickets are $10 or free with Elon identification. Tickets may be purchased by calling the McCrary Theatre box office at (336) 278-5610. The box office is open between 12:30 p.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
