A chapter by Pranab Das, associate professor of physics, titled “The Intrusion of Unknowability: Chaos Theory and Free Action,” appeared in the book “Aesthetics and Chaos: Investigating a Creative Complicity” in December. The book is edited by Grazia Marciano and published by Trauben Press in Torino, Italy. The chapter considers the implications of chaos theory for human freedom in a mechanical world.
