Callie Crossley, an experienced broadcast journalist who appears weekly on WGBH-TV in Boston, will be a Woodrow Wilson Visiting Fellow on the Elon University campus April 21-24. Throughout the week, she will participate in classroom visits and hold meetings with students and faculty.
Crossley spent 13 years as a producer for the ABC News program “20/20.” Her production work on the acclaimed PBS series “Eyes On the Prize” was nominated for an Oscar for Best Documentary Feature.
Crossley is the recipient of several top journalism awards, including a national Emmy, an Edward R. Murrow award and the Alfred I. Dupont-Columbia award, considered the top award in broadcast journalism.
She is a frequently sought guest on local and national news programs. Crossley appears on “Beat the Press,” a weekly show on WGBH-TV that examines local and national news coverage of important events. She has also served as a commentator on CNN and NPR. Crossley serves as principal of CrossChannels, a company that provides moderating, lecturing and media consultant services.
More than 200 colleges and universities have participated in the Woodrow Wilson Visiting Fellows program. Successful journalists, government officials, business leaders and ethicists visit college campuses through the program, meeting classes and holding informal discussions with students and faculty.
