Originally from South Korea, the Julliard-trained piano trio features twins Lucia (piano) and Maria (cello), and their sister Angella (violin). Their recording of Dvorak, Suk and Shostakovich trios won Germany’s prestigious ECHO Award and another CD Ahn-Plugged offers a more eclectic program. The Ahn Trio breathes new life into piano trio literature. The Washington Post said of their performance, “Their technique was impressive, and they balanced unanimity and individuality in a spirit that is at the heart of chamber music.”
