“The Laramie Project” at Black Box, Oct. 1-5

The Elon University Department of Performing Arts will present “The Laramie Project” by Moisés Kaufman and the Tectonic Theater Project Wednesday, Oct. 1-Sunday, Oct. 5 in the Black Box Theatre, located in the Center for the Arts on campus. Show times are 7:30 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday and 2 p.m. Saturday-Sunday.

This moving piece traces the efforts of a New York theatre company who interview various citizens of Laramie, Wyo., following the brutal killing of Matthew Shepard, a gay college student. The resulting collage of monologues investigates the fundamental values of Laramie and our own national culture.
