Warren “Dusty” Rhodes, an Elon trustee and longtime supporter of Phoenix athletics, has received the Southern Conference Distinguished Service Award. The SoCon award, which is given annually to one person at each member institution, recognizes Rhodes’ leadership and support of Elon athletics. Rhodes is one of the university’s most generous donors. Rhodes Stadium, the home of Phoenix football, is named in honor of Dusty, his wife, Peggy, and their family.
Rhodes and his wife will be recognized at an honors dinner hosted by the Southern Conference on June 2 in Hilton Head, S.C.
