A husband and wife team of lighthouse experts will discuss their research and love of the historic beacons along North Carolina’s coast during a presentation at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 10 in Yeager Recital Hall on the Elon campus. Sponsored by Our State magazine and Elon University, the presentation by Bruce and Cheryl Shelton Roberts is free and open to the public.
The couple are active researchers on the state’s lighthouses from Currituck Beach to Oak Island, including the famous lighthouses at Cape Hatteras, Ocracoke and Cape Lookout. Cheryl Roberts is the author of Our State’s forthcoming book, “North Carolina Lighthouses: A Tribute of History and Hope.” Bruce Roberts is a nationally acclaimed photographer and the first director of photography for Southern Living.
