Shore will receive a $1,500 stipend to be used for educational expenses and an additional $500 to be used to establish a meaningful mentoring relationship during the upcoming academic year. The Fund for Theological Education provides monetary and mentoring support to students considering ministry as a career.

An additional component of the fellowship is a five-day conference which Shore recently attended at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, Calif. Seventy undergraduate fellows joined 60 divinity students for workshops, roundtable discussions and presentations by leading theologians.

“I learned a lot of valuable information and was challenged not only in my faith, but also academically,” says Shore. “I came away with some amazing new friendships. Being in such a stimulating and encouraging environment was refreshing.”

Shore has also been selected as one of seven student program coordinators for the new Vera Richardson Truitt Center for Religious and Spiritual Life at Elon. The center is scheduled to open in the fall, and Shore will be responsible for developing the center’s spiritual formation retreats.
