Capitol Steps to poke fun at politics September 21

Political satire will be on the ballot when Capitol Steps, a group of former Congressional staffers turned comedians, takes the stage for two shows at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 21 in McCrary Theatre, located in the Center for the Arts on the Elon University campus.

Capitol Steps has recorded 21 albums, including their latest, “One Bush, Two Bush, Old Bush, New Bush.” They have been featured on NBC, CBS, ABC and PBS and are heard four times a year on their NPR special, “Politics Takes a Holiday.” Capitol Steps has performed more than 4,500 times, including performances for the last five presidents. Public figures from Jerry Falwell to Bill Clinton are fair game for the skits and songs of Capitol Steps.

Tickets are $12, or free for those with valid Elon identification. Tickets may be purchased by calling the McCrary Theatre box office at (336) 278-5610. The box office is open from 12:30 p.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday.
