Elon junior women’s soccer player Gillian Murray has been named the SoCon TIAA-CREF Student-Athlete of the Week for October 27.
A junior midfielder from Cranford, NJ, Murray led the Phoenix to two conference wins last week. She had an assist in Elon’s 6-1 win over The Citadel on October 21 and knocked in the game-wining goal in a 1-0 win over Chattanooga on October 24. Murray is a business administration major and carries a 3.95 GPA. She was a member of the 2003-04 Southern Conference Honor Roll and has been named to Elon’s President’s List on four occasions.
