This year’s class has an average cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.40, from an impressive list of colleges and universities, including Emory University, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Wake Forest University. Two students in the class attended Elon. Students also have an average Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) score of 1080 (Verbal and Quantitative sections combined), 60 points higher than the United States average GRE score of 1020 and a record high for an incoming class of physical therapy students. Students come from 15 states, including one student each from Montana and New Mexico. Popular undergraduate majors include Biology, Exercise & Health Science and Psychology.
Dr. Elizabeth Rogers, Associate Dean and Chairperson of the Department of Physical Therapy Education, says “the Department is excited to welcome this talented DPT class to Elon! The 40-member Class of 2007 comes from diverse educational and life-experience backgrounds, including members of the class who have held high positions in their respective industries.”
Additionally, sixteen Elon Master of Physical Therapy (MPT) alumni enrolled in the transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy (t-DPT) program, allowing past Elon MPT alumni the opportunity to receive additional coursework and to confer the t-DPT degree.
