A renowned ethnobotanist, Plotkin has been hailed by Time magazine as an environmental “Hero for the Planet.” For much of the past 20 years, he has worked with and studied with the shamans of Central and South America. Plotkin is the author of Tales of a Shaman’s Apprentice, Medicine Quest: In Search of Nature’s Healing Secrets, and most recently, The Killers Within, which focuses on drug-resistant bacteria and new medicines from nature.
