The Department of Performing Arts will present William Shakespeare’s “The Two Gentlemen of Verona” Thursday, Jan. 20-Sunday, Jan. 23 and Wednesday, Feb. 2-Saturday, Feb. 5 in the Black Box Theatre, located in the Center for the Arts on campus. Performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and at 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Professor Richard Gang directs the play, which tackles the foibles of love through disguised heroines, good-hearted scoundrels and lyrical poetry. As a complicated love affair challenges the friendship of Valentine and Proteus, it takes the wit of their girlfriends to make everything right.
Reservations are recommended. Tickets for the performance are $12, or free for those with valid Elon identification. Tickets may be purchased by calling the Black Box Theatre reservation line at (336) 278-5650. The reservation line is open 24 hours.
