Mark Rumley, Director for School Outreach Programs in the School of Education, has been invited to serve on the North Carolina State Teacher of the Year Selection Team. Rumley will serve as a representative from higher education to this committee and will join with other educational professionals from across North Carolina to complete the task of selecting North Carolina’s Teacher of the Year. The committee’s work will be completed in early May. Rumley is a 1984 Elon alum with degrees in English education and music performance and served the public schools as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal before returning to Elon in 2001.
