Student wins first place at singing competition

Sophomore music theatre major Sarah Stevens earned first place honors in the Music Theatre College Women category at the National Association of Teachers of Singing’s Mid-Atlantic Region competition, held Saturday, April 2 at the University of South Carolina, Columbia.

A student of Polly Cornelius in the music department, Stevens won first place honors for North Carolina in February, qualifying her for the regional competition. The regional competition includes students from Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
