Six Elon dance majors just returned from The American College Dance Festival’s Southeast Regional Conference at Coker College in Hartsville, S.C., March 30-April 3.
The students presented a modern dance concert piece titled “Awaken,” choreographed by Elon graduate, Katrina Taylor. The presentation received top honors and was it chosen for the final gala concert the final evening of the conference. Only 11 pieces were selected for presentation in this final concert out of numerous colleges and universities from all over the southeastern United States.
Students attending the conference were Manny Naylor, Michelle Kidder, April Holloway, Libby Wood, Katie Lester and Kristen Owens. Elon Dance faculty member, Professor Jane Wellford, also attended the conference and taught a Dance Improvisation class to conference participants consisting of faculty and students.
