Business Fellows team earns recognition at symposium

The Elon University Jefferson Pilot Business Fellows stock portfolio placed second in the undergraduate-value portfolio division of the 2005 Redefining Investment Strategy Education (RISE) Symposium, a global student investment strategy symposium held March 30-April 1 at the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio.

The portfolio project is one of three experiences that Jefferson Pilot Business Fellows can choose to participate in during their senior year. Seniors Adam Davis and Sarah Farley presented the portfolio during a networking reception at the symposium, which Elon first participated in last year. The 8 senior Jefferson Pilot fellows who make up this year’s portfolio management team are: Adam Davis, Sarah Farley, Erin Gaeng, Daniel Halpin, Brian McGuire, Jeneia Mullins, Matt Spano and Mike Willie. Juniors Tim Buckley and Gillian Murray, along with Dr. John Burbridge, dean of the Love School of Business, also attended the RISE symposium.

This year marks the fifth year of the symposium, a fully interactive event between international groups of students, faculty and Wall Street. Elon was one of 37 schools to take part in the portfolio competition.
